Hey guys!




Although truth be told it doesn't seem like it's Christmas season, i can't believe it's already here. Maybe i'm just getting jaded or old lol. WHERE HAS MY YEAR GONE? TOO FAST.

I have spent a good hour or so texting back and forth between a handful of friends

Also my friend whose party i was at not long ago, i swear every year (since she was legal anyway lol) she's been trying to kill my liver I HADN'T EVEN FINISHED THAT FIRST DRINK DON'T GO HANDING ME ANOTHER ONE WOMAN.

I'm sorry i haven't been able to organise anything cool in the way of DA Xmas presents like i have in the past years though I suppose if you want a custom Tektek Minion i can create one for you if you like, although i probably won't be able to make a lot at this time |D

Either that or if anyone wants a simple custom journal CSS then i can provide! But again only for a few people, as i am a procrastinatory piece of crap lol.

First things first, as much as i would love to send all of you Christmas cards most of you live in the US and i swear, the price of the stamp is more then the Christmas card If you ever want to send me a card then you'll see what i mean lol.

So these are the people from the last journal who will be getting a card from me _{(1 or 2 more may be added depending on how many stamps i can get )}



Note me your mailing address and a character for your paper child, kk.
And now, onwards!


Original characters or fan-characters, they all gotta start somewhere right? And i've always been interested in how many of them get started (i'm also slightly bored right now lol).

So, just for fun, let's all share the methods we use to come up with our characters

Who knows, there may be some tips and tricks to learn from other people that you might like to try

1. Use the first thing that comes to mind and that feels "right"
   
   A lot of my characters are "firsts". In other words their names and mannerisms are the first thing i thought of when i decided on having another character, and in most cases they work well because they feel like they should belong to that character. Don't think too hard about it.
   
   When something feels right, you shouldn't try and change it simply because you want them to be "cooler" or something - for instance, i once tried changing Izm's last name but i epically failed because nothing else seemed to fit him in my head.
   
   _{If you're curious, Izm's last name is Tanner.}



2. But don't be afraid to change something if you find it no longer seems to "work"
   
   Just try not keep changing something really important, such as your character's name.



3. You should be able to hate your characters
   
   Think about them in the context of real life friends or family. Obviously whilst you like your friends enough they also have some quirks and mannerisms that either annoy you or really tick you off right? Well, your characters should be the same.
   
   Taking Izm as an example again; being a drug-dealer is part of his character and not something i would change. However, i hate drugdealers and what they do, they make me angry >(
   
   On a side note, if you find you love your character way too much and can't hate them your character is potentially a Sue.



4. Keep it real(ish)
   
   You don't want people going "HAHAHA THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE" every time they look at your character and how he/she/it fits into their storyline/world. For instance, if your character is based in an ancient Aztec society then they will most likely not have pale skin, blond hair and blue eyes.
   
   And whilst you can't really avoid cliches, try not to amalgamate too many at once in your character. Please. For the love of God. Don't make me come over there.

I think the main points i really adhere to all the time is 1 and 2 I don't know about other people, but i cant think too hard about a character because then everything i think up seems "not right" |D; This is why every time i look at a character creation guide out of curiosity i instantly baulk at the amount of information they say you should fill in

Hey lovelies! What you guys think of my CSS for this holidays?

I actually wanted to do something more Christmas spirited rather then seasonal but all the Christmas spirit stuff i tried to draw wasn't working out as planned, so luckily i still had the rough sketch of this lying around |D

Drawing snow is fun but i swear, if i ever actually had a white Christmas i think i would hate it Too cold lol! It's always sunny where i am :3 _{i say this in all seriousness, as where i come from December means summer}



Well technically it's something for you

If you all recall THIS JOURNAL (and the one before it, really) then the time is now to tell me what you want drawn. They'll all be headshots.

If i remember correctly there are about 20 people who voted that option so no trying to sneak in and get me to draw something for you if you didn't choose that, because in any event i can simply check the names



I bought a pack of really nice Christmas cards from the Reject Shop but i don't think i'll be using all of them lol. So i was thinking i might give like...5 or so out to some DA friends They'd all contain a cute little paper child or something ^^

If you'd like a Christmas card from me then comment here, and i'll pick out who i want to give them to later.

Mind you, if you're getting something drawn for the other thing then you're definitely not getting a Christmas card It's only fair right.

Hello children.

Considering that it's going to be Halloween soon and i just want an excuse to pretend to be celebrating a holiday (lol), let's all take a page from the Hedone Highers and sit around the campfire and tell ghost stories.

However, yours have to be true Got any interesting "paranormal experiences" to share with us?

One that i've had is that one time, back in Year 6, i had a dream that i was walking along the oval at school (it was from my point of view) and all of a sudden i fell over and everything went dark. Really not much of a dream neh? The next day a school friend of mine was playing soccer when she had (what was later simply explained to us) a heart attack.

She died a few hours after being taken to hospital.

I never want to have a dream like that again.


The second experience happened a few years later in Kuala Lumpur (KL). Me, my cousin, my parents and a family friend were staying in a pretty swanky hotel. My parents were in one room and we were in another room directly opposite them.

On the last day of our stay, i woke up at about 7am needing to go to the bathroom (family friend had left room to go to gym sometime earlier, so me and cousin were alone). As i was coming out i noticed a faint blue handprint on the bathroom door.

A faint blue handprint that had a palm print on one side of the door and fingers that extended all the way to the other side of the door. Which was most certainly not there the night before

I woke my cousin up to show her just in case i was seeing things but no, it was really there. We tried to find a logical explanation for it (was it my handprint? no, handprint to big, fingers too long and creepy. Same goes for cousin's hand and family friend's hand) but couldn't find any.

Needless to say we were quite glad to be leaving that day.
